About Us
Robert Weber, President, began his career in the vertical transportation industry in 1980 while employed by New England Hospital Supply/Foster Medical, in Burlington, VT. With the closing of this company in 1982, Mr. Weber formed his own company, which was to become Weber Accessibility Systems, Inc., located in Richmond, Vermont. Weber Accessibility expanded over the years to include offices in Mechanic Falls, Maine (opened 1988), Claremont, New Hampshire (opened 1993), and Boca Raton, Florida (opened 2001).
In 2004, a major manufacturer approached Mr. Weber interested in acquiring Weber Accessibility Systems, Inc. as a sales and installation outlet for its equipment. After the acquisition, a new Weber Accessibility Systems office was opened in Orlando, Florida. In 2006, after 24 years of existence and having provided thousands of installations, the new owners closed Weber Accessibility Systems, Inc.
Subsequent to the closure of Weber Accessibility Systems, Inc., Mr. Weber acquired some of the assets of the former company and opened a new business, Accessibility Systems, Inc. with offices in Richmond, Vermont and Claremont, New Hampshire.
Among Mr. Weber's credentials, he sits on the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) A18.1 main code committee (the code-writing body for accessibility lifts), and the ASME A17.1 Section 5.2 subcommittee for LU/LA elevators. He is a Certified Accessibility Lift and Residential Elevator Technician (CAT) through the National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC). Mr. Weber holds a QEI elevator inspector certification through the National Association of Elevator Safety Authorities (NAESA) and is a licensed elevator inspector in the states of VT, NH, ME and FL. He is also a fully-licensed elevator mechanic in these states. (New York State does not license elevator mechanics, but Mr. Weber has been licensed by the City of Albany, NY.)
Donna Hampton, Vice President, began her technical/construction career working for Disney/United Telephone in Orlando, Florida where she worked as a fiber optic cable splicer during the construction of MGM Studios, and as a pole climber running cable in Tampa, Florida. She moved to Maine with her family and worked for a brief time for Cablevision Systems Corp. designing cable systems for installations in remote areas, before founding Masterclean, a fire and water damage restoration company, in Rockland, Maine. Ms. Hampton was certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) in fire and water damage restoration.
After moving to New Hampshire, Ms. Hampton took a job with Weber Accessibility Systems, Inc. She subsequently left the company to found Hampton Elevator Services, in Leesburg, Florida. Hampton Elevator Services was an elevator installation subcontractor, providing installations for various elevator companies in central Florida. Upon the closing of Weber Accessibility Systems, she returned to New England to become Vice President of Accessibility Systems, Inc.
Ms. Hampton holds mechanics' licenses in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Florida.
